Lit Lace Interface

RESPONSIVE SCENERY FOR PERFORMANCES WITH A USER-FRIENDLY INTERFACE TO CONTROL LIGHTS AND SMART TEXTILES

The project

This project brings the worlds of senor technology and smart textile functionality together to offer something unique to the performace industry. By integrating the Lit Lace cloth as part of a controlled lighting system, we can offer creative solutions for responsive backdrops, set design and user interfaces as part of an internet of things for the theatre. Through reuse and repurposing of smart textiles and sustainable lighting technologies, we demonstrate innovative ways to minimise textile and excessive waste associated with the performance industry. Through new product diversification, we help build a sustainable manufacturing base to safeguard important industrial textile heritage.
