To bring craftsmen designers into contact with biomaterials to develop a sustainable collection using Kombucha and Bioplastic as raw materials studying forming techniques, taking into account user experience in design, the perception (aesthetics) and its environmental impact, reducing fabric waste from manufacturing.
Surzhana Radnaeva (France)
SURZHANA RADNAEVA Buryat fashion designer and photographer based in Marseille who is passionate about working with biomaterials and reuse. Surzhana is specialised in women’s clothing and wearable accessories. Her work revolves around connecting tradition with sustainable innovation. She graduated in Art History in Moscow, and in fashion design in Beijing where she worked as art director. Surzhana combines dance and fashion through artistic performances with different collectives. In 2018, she won ReShape 2018 on Wearable Technology.
FAB LAB BCN (Spain)
Fab textile, part of the IAAC is a research laboratory that develops and implements new approaches to the creation, production and distribution of fashion elements, by using distributed manufacturing infrastructures and knowledge networks. They founded the textile-academy, a program that combines digital fabrication, synthetic biology and fashion and their objectives are to create new tools, explore materiality and cross-disciplinary approaches using computational design, biocouture, and robot-controlled manufacturing.
